The Most Venerable Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw,
上座部學院(TTBC：TaiwandIpa TheravAda Buddhist College:台灣南傳上座部佛教學院)旨在植根佛陀的教法於台灣(BuddhasAsanassa mUlAni TaiwandIpe otarantu.)；為朝向這個目的，敬邀禪師來台教授佛法、暨指導學院的弘法計畫。
１懇請禪師於2009年來台雨安居或10月中旬至12月蒞台；或配合禪師的時間，2010年早日蒞院指導，指導禪修暨傳授戒法。
1.1禪師蒞院長期指導；這乃是植根教法於台灣的標杆。就此，學院將有如下的配套弘法活動。
禪師蒞台之前，學院先自帕奧禪林邀請尊者駐院；其可協助領導道場、指導禪修與教授巴利聖典。禪師蒞台期間，可全面帶領學院，型塑上座部道場的風貌，逐歩植根教法於台灣(乃至發展為華語區的一個據點)。禪師離台後，禪修者可續住學院禪修，乃至廣學上座部佛教。
1.2敬邀禪師蒞台期間，擔任戒師(upajjhAya)，傳授比庫(bhikkhu)戒、沙馬內拉(sAmaNera)戒與十戒尼師(SIlashin)戒。至於sIma(戒場)的所在處，可暫時做在學院或做在屆時更適合的地方，請禪師決定地方、並做成sIma。
1.3關於禪師蒞台教授的準備狀況。首先，淨法尊者(Bhante U Dhammasubho)已應學院之邀指導相關的法務；悉臘尊者(Bhante U SIla)已應邀為顧問。並請禪師指派助理禪師與翻譯，由學院進一歩正式邀請帕奧禪林的僧團派任。其次，關於禪修營的場地，學院已會同Bhante U Dhammasubho或Bhante U SIla 共勘定三個適當的道場。屆時，學院若建成新的道場當然最佳。第三，禪師若能蒞台雨安居(vassa)，學院將先邀請禪師視察雨安居的處所。
２敬請禪師指導學院如下的弘法計畫。
2.1學院籌備一個禪師暨弘法師的(語言)培訓計畫。智行尊者(Bhante U BANacAra)已應諾於2008年底至台弘法，並學習華語，乃至接受護持修博士學位。
在這個計畫的初階段，擬再邀智悉尊者(Bhante U Kovida，12vassa)與智傳尊者 (Bhante U BANavaMsa)等約5人，至台弘法、並學習華語或其它語言，乃至在台修碩博士學位。
若發展順利，第二階段將再邀5位以上的尊者、數位十戒尼師(SIlashin)(若有適當的女眾住處時) 來台弘法或學習，並開始邀青年比庫(bhikkhu)或沙馬內拉(sAmaNera)來台長住與學習。
這個計畫若能適當發展，目標是朝向一個正式的上座部學院並譯註巴利聖典(PALi Texts)為中文，乃至作為上座部佛教在華語區的弘法中心。
2.2學院2009年邀請Bhante U Dhammasubho & Bhante U BANacAra & Bhante U SIla為學院師長。
2.3 關於學院2008年5月至2009年6月的主要活動。
2008年5月9日-19日，敬邀Bhante U Dhammasubho & Bhante U BANacAra & Bhante U SIla & Bhante U MaGgala(吉祥尊者，5月12日到院)蒞院，主持禪修營暨短期出家。
2008年6月至10月，學院陸續帶領台灣的僧信至帕奧禪林修學。
2008年11月-2009年6月，於適當的因緣，學院將邀請Bhante U UkkaMsa, Bhante U AggaJJa, Bhante U KiJcana, Bhante U PuJJinda, Bhante U SIla (Mawlamyine 12vassa), Bhante U MaGgala & Bhante U Revata(離瓦達尊者) & Bhante U BANavaMsa & Bhante U Mahinda(瑪欣德尊者)、Sayalay Daw DipaGkArA(燃燈戒尼)蒞台弘法。禪修營暨短期出家預訂於2008年12月6日-15日、2009年1月1日至12日、2009年1月28日至2月8日等時間，另有多次佛法講座及短期佛法課程。
2.4 學院將另行陸續邀請Sayadaw U Cittala等大長老(MahAthera)蒞院指導；並適時邀請Bhante U Kusala(緬人，8vassa)或Bhante U VayAma(緬甸籍的華人：通達華語與福建話)等人為隨行的侍者。
2.5懇請禪師釋出禪師中文著作的版權，以利自由出版與流通。屆時，學院將出版禪師的中文全集，並出版禪師弟子的叢書及巴利聖典之中譯等叢書。
2.6學院的淨人團(KappiyagaNa)已開始要籌備一個上座部禪修道場，圓滿建成時，請求供養為帕奧禪林的在台分院，並邀請禪師親自主持開幕法會等活動。
為植根佛陀的教法於台灣，再度懇請禪師蒞台教授、並持續指導學院的弘法

The most Venerable Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw, April 6 2008
Okāsa, Sayadaw, vandami.
For the purpose of achieving our aim “may the Buddhasāsana gain root in Taiwan” （BuddhasAsanassa mūlani Taiwandīpa otarantu）, TTBC(Taiwandīpa Theravāda Buddhist College) would like to invite Sayadaw to Taiwan to teach us Dhamma and to guide us on how to carry out the project of spreading the Dhamma. The report consists of two main parts which are as follows.
1We sincerely invite Sayadaw to Taiwan for vassa 2009 or after Vassa between the middle of Oct to Dec in 2009. (Otherwise please come at early 2010 to guide us, teach us meditation and to give precepts.)
1.1 When Sayadaw comes to TTBC to give us guidance for a longer period of time it would be a landmark in the process of the Buddhasāsana gaining root in Taiwan. And we have planned a package of series of activities for your coming which are as follows:
Before Sayadaw’s arrival, we will invite several Bhantes to TTBC to help in managing the temple affairs and to teach meditation, as well as PALi Texts. And then when Sayadaw is residing at TTBC, we believe that TTBC will reflect a perfect Theravāda image under your overall guidance and the Buddhasāsana will step by step gain root in Taiwan, (therefore slowly but steadily may become one of the Theravāda centre in Mandarin-speaking area) Furthermore, after Sayadaw leaves, yogis still can continue learning about meditation as well as Theravāda Buddhism in TTBC.
1.2We sincerely request Sayadaw to be the Upajjhāya for Bhikkhu, Sāmanera and Sīlashin while you are residing here. As for the location of sīma, we plan to set it up in TTBC temporarily (or another place if it is more suitable). Therefore we sincerely ask Sayadaw to decide on the location and to set up the sīma according to the vinaya.
1.3The following is the preparation work in advance for your coming. Firstly, Bhante U Dhammasubho has accepted our invitation to guide us in the relative work and Bhante U Sīla has also promised to be our advisor. And we’d like to ask Sayadaw to appoint assistant meditation teachers and translators. Then we will be able to send an official invitation letter to Pa Auk Tawya Sangha to request the appointment of the specified teachers and translators. Secondly, as for the venue of retreat, Bhante U Dhammasubho or Bhante U SIla has led us to check on three probable places. The most ideal place would be our own monastery if we have one at that time. Thirdly, if Sayadaw can come to Taiwan for vassa, we would like to request Sayadaw to inspect the venue for vassa first.
2We sincerely request Sayadaw to instruct us on how to carry out the following projects.
2.1We have arranged a training program (including language) for KammaTThAna-Acariya and Dhamma teachers. Bhante U BANacAra is our first case; he has accepted our invitation to come to Taiwan to learn Mandarin and also to accept our sponsorship to further his studies for doctorate as well.
In the initial stage of the program, we’d like to sponsor about 5 Bhantes, including Bhante U Kovida, 12vassa, and Bhante U BANavaMsa, etc to learn the Chinese language and to study for master’s or doctorate degree.
If this program goes well at its initial stage, we will continue to sponsor 5 more bhantes and several sīlashins(if we can provide an appropriate place for them ) at the second stage.
If this program is well developed, our aim is to establish an official Theravāda Buddhist College which is to become the center for preaching Theravāda Buddhism in Mandarin speaking area and to translate PALi Texts to Chinese as well.
2.2TTBC invites Bhante U Dhammasubho, Bhante U BANacAra and Bhante U Sīla to be our teachers for the academic year 2009.
2.3The main activities from May 2008 to Jun 2009 are as follows:
On 9 to 19 May 2008, we will invite Bhante U Dhammasubho & Bhante U BANacAra & Bhante U SIla & Bhante U MaGgala(arrive on May 12 ) to TTBC to conduct meditation retreat and novitiate ceremony.
From Jun to Oct 2008, we will continue to take Taiwanese yogis to Pa Auk Monastery to practice meditation.
From Nov 2008 to Jun 2009, we will invite Bhante U UkkaMsa, Bhante U AggaJJa, Bhante U KiJcana, Bhante U PuJJinda, Bhante U Sila(Mawlamyine 12vassa), Bhante U MaGgala, Bhante U Revata, Bhante U BANavaMsa, Bhante U Mahinda and Sayalay Daw DipaGkArA to Taiwan for preaching Dhamma, depending on the schedule. The schedule of meditation and novitiate retreat is planned to be on 6 Dec to 15 Dec 2008, 1 Jan to 12 Jan 2009, and 28 Jan to 8 Feb 2009 as well as several Dhamma talks and short term Buddhist courses.
2.4TTBC will also continue to invite Sayadaw U Cittala and other MahAthera, etc to TTBC to instruct us. Bhante U Kusala(Burmese, 8 vassa) or Bhante U VayAma, (Burmese Chinese, good at Mandarin and Fu Jian speaking) or others, etc will also be invited as an attendant.
2.5Hereby, we sincerely request Sayadaw to release the copyright of your books in Chinese version for free publication and distribution. For the time being we plan to publish three series of books which are 1) the collected works of Pa Auk Sayadaw in Chinese version, 2) some of your disciples’ books and 3) PALi Texts in Chinese visions, etc.
2.6The KappiyagaNa of TTBC is preparing to establish a Theravāda monastery and meditation center. If this wish comes true, we would like to offer it as a branch of Pa Auk Monastery in Taiwan. And we sincerely invite Sayadaw to inaugurate the monastery when the time comes.
For the purpose of achieving our aim “may the Buddhasāsana gain root in Taiwan”,TTBC again sincerely invite Sayadaw to come to Taiwan to teach us Dhamma and continuously guide us in spreading the Dhamma.
